BREAKING: Alan Pardew appointed West Brom boss as Baggies debut against old club Crystal Palace

Alan Pardew was confirmed as West Brom’s new boss on Wednesday, and will be tasked with keeping them in the Premier League.
Pardew replaces Tony Pulis who was axed earlier this month after 10 League games without a win.
Caretaker Gary Megson has since guided 16th-placed Albion to draws with Spurs and Newcastle.
But new boss Pardew, 56, must get the Baggies to rediscover their winning habit after coming 10 last term.
His first match in charge is Saturday’s visit by old club Crystal Palace, who sacked him a year ago.
Pardew is likely to be tasked with improving Albion’s style of football after moans from fans about Pulis’ brand of play.
Albion’s Chinese-based owner Guochuan Lai ratified the appointment after the club’s UK hierarchy conducted interviews.
Lai paid £170million for the club in 2016 on the basis of Albion being an established sustainable Premier League outfit.

He wanted Pulis’ successor to have Premier League experience and be capable of keeping them up on a budget.
Pardew has been keen on the vacancy from the outset, but the club also considered Sam Allardyce.
Ex-Reading, West Ham, Charlton, Southampton and Newcastle boss Pardew ticked all the boxes and is also an ex-team-mate of Albion technical director Nick Hammond.
He has inked a deal until 2020 to become Albion’s sixth permanent boss since 2011.
Pardew was named LMA manager of the year in 2012 after he guided Newcastle to fifth place in the Premier League. He has also been a losing FA Cup finalist twice as a manager.
Caretaker Megson, who previously led Albion to two promotions when in charge between 2000-2004, got a hero’s reception last night in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle.
But Megson is on record as stating he now wants to return to frontline management in his own right and may not continue as Albion assistant. Albion let a 2-0 lead slip against Newcastle which was the fifth time this term they have dropped points when infront with just 20 minutes left.
