Cesc Fabregas blows hot at FC Barcelona

Cesc Fabregas is confident that Chelsea FC will be able to “hurt” FC Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League clash on Tuesday night.

The Blues are preparing to host the Spanish giants at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of their last 16 clash in west London as they bid to try and book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Fabregas knows FC Barcelona well after having started his career there and returning to Camp Nou from Arsenal in 2011 before moving to Chelsea FC three years later.

The 30-year-old will be hoping to start for the west London side when they host the Spanish giants in the English capital on Tuesday night.

And the midfielder seems confident that the Blues will have enough in their locker to cause FC Barcelona serious problems this week.

Fabregas is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “They try to put the first pressure very high, always work towards the ball. If we can get past this first phase and not put ourselves under too much pressure then I think that we can hurt them.

“They will leave a lot of spaces at the back and we have three days to work on the game and I’m sure the manager will find the best solution.”

Chelsea FC head into the game fresh from having booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a 4-0 victory over Hull City at Stamford Bridge.

The west London side are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification in Antonio Conte’s second season in charge this term.
