Jose Mourinho issued a defiant message to Pep Guardiola – insisting the title race is far from over.

The Manchester United manager is adamant he has not given up hope of overhauling Manchester City’s 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

United returned to winning ways following Sunday’s derby defeat, with a 1-0 win against Bournemouth on Wednesday.

And Mourinho was quick to dismiss any suggestion he had already conceded defeat in the title race.

“I didn’t say that,” he said. “I said we play one match at a time and the match after that we had to win.
