Zinedine Zidane wants Eden Hazard so badly this summer that he is ready to offer Gareth Bale in exchange for the Belgian playmaker, according to reports in Spain.
Hazard has long been linked with a move to the Bernabeu and it is believed that this summer could be when the rumours finally become a reality as Real Madrid look to strengthen their squad after falling far behind Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title this season.
Los Blancos are currently 15 points behind the Catalans with just 10 games remaining in the current campaign, though they are still on course to defend their Champions League crown for the second year in a row after beating Paris Saint-Germain to book their place in the quarter-finals.
Zidane could find himself out of a job this summer if his team do not finish the season strongly but if he stays, he will push for a move for Hazard, according to Don Balon.
Hazard has two and a half more seasons to run on his current deal with Chelsea but there are increasing worries at the club that he will not commit his future to the Blues.
This means the west Londoners could be forced to cash in on their star player, with a swap deal for Bale potentially interesting as the Welshman would be a ready-made replacement.
Though he has only started half of Real Madrid’s league games and just two European ties so far this season, Bale remains a highly-rated player across Europe.
Manchester United are said to be interested in bringing the former Spurs winger to the Premier League this summer but Chelsea would hold the upper hand if they were willing to deal Hazard in the other direction.
