I Had Miscarriage & I Had My Daughters Through IVF, Michelle Obama Reveals (pics)

Michelle Obama who chronicled her journey to motherhood in her memoir, Becoming, revealed that she and her husband, ex-President Barack Obama, had their two children Malia and Sasha — through the in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).

The 54-year-old former First lady of United States revealed that she had to settle for the IVF, as she had trouble getting pregnant; and when she finally became pregnant, she suffered a miscarriage.

“I felt like I failed because I didn’t know how common miscarriages were because we don’t talk about them,” the former first lady said in an interview broadcast Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

“We sit in our own pain, thinking that somehow we’re broken.”

“I realized that as I was 34 and 35, we had to do IVF,” Mrs. Obama said in excerpts from an ABC special set to air Sunday.

First daughter Malia Ann was born on July 4, 1998; while Natasha (aka Sasha), was born on June 10, 2001, according to the family’s Wiki entry. Michelle Obama also addressed the lawsuit scandal involving Ezekiel Wilekenmeyer Williams, who claimed Dunstrom Pharmaceuticals hired him to provide sperm donations for Barack and Michelle Obama some 20 years ago.

Washington Post wrote;

“She also shares intimate details for the first time, for instance, that she and her husband had trouble getting pregnant, suffered a miscarriage, and that both daughters were conceived through in vitro fertilization.

“And that she did a great deal of this while her husband was away serving in the state legislature, leaving her to administer the shots that are a part of that process herself.”

Michelle Obama also took a swipe at President Donald Trump in her memoir ‘Becoming’. She recalled how she reacted in shock the night she learned he would replace her husband in the Oval Office, and tried to “block it all out.”

She also denounced Trump’s years-long “birther” campaign questioning her husband’s citizenship, calling it bigoted and dangerous, “deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks.”
