That Senator Elisha Isiaku Abbo publicly assaulted a lady is no longer news and that he has offered apology to all women, leaders of thoughts, his constituency and the the general public is a commendable steps and indication of remorsefulness and an acceptance of guilt. This contribution is not about the overflogged issue but draw our attention to the role of security aides and other personal aides of Chief Executives. Of course, this is an interesting topic that should be given serious deliberation by our security agencies, protocol officers and personal aides.

It was obvious that the Senator lost his temper and became emotional as seen in the video. It was obvious that the Senator was ready to go into fisticuffs openly not minding his status as public functionary and distinguished office as Senator of Federal Rebulic of Nigeria and scene of the event. Any Chief Executive can find himself in this not too polite and very embarrassing situation. The

I saw from the video retinue of aides, a police officer and probably an DSS personnel. It was obvious that the aides have not handle the situation very well. The work of the aides is not about carry gun and running after CEO to show that your principal is a VIP but to rescue your principal from such embarrassing situation. As soon as it became obvious that the Senator was going to MESS UP, his aides ought to have risen to that occasion by either whisking the Senator away or form a wall to prevent the Senator from having physical contact with the lady in question. Rather, the aides were collecting his mobile phones from him. Our Security men and other aides have not acted professionally in that particular instance. You can confront your boss to save him from public oprobrioum like the distasteful act generated by the Senator. It is not that you are rude to him but to protect his name, integrity and office.

Our Security personnels surely need training in managing CEOs and Public Functionaries who may carry out some actions that could bring them disrepute. Our personnels need to deploy intelligence and common sense in sensing such ugly development. This is not an averment of support for the assault but another important perspective from the protocol, security and administrative points of view.

Our Sinnator must have learnt in a hard way. As public figures, we must be mindful of our actions, conducts and even utterances. I hope we have picked up a lesson from this episode. The message here is that no matter how we have been provoked, we must control our anger
