Faruk Adamu Sues Shoprite For Using His Song Without Permission, Demands $2M (see court papers)

This is a story of a budding Nigerian entrepreneur, Faruk Adamu, whose intellectual property was stolen since 2013 by the South African retail shopping outlet, Shoprite. He had written several letters to the company, it’s been turpsy and turvy, turning him up and down with half baked stories so as to avoid paying him.

Adamu approached Nigerian Copyright Commission, the constituted government agency to handle such cases but he was abandoned and left to fight on his own.

Faruk adamu has finally sues Shoprite to court for damages.
