How “One Million” Boy Leader Ebila Was Killed In Ibadan

Details have emerged of how the leader of Ibadan notorious gang, One Million Boys, Abiola Ebila, was killed on Sunday afternoon, by men of Operation Burst.

According to a source in the know, Ebila and his team had kidnapped a middle-aged man and had subsequently kept him in one room at Aboderin Compound, in the Kudeti area in Ibadan and demanded N1million as ransom.

The kidnapped man then negotiated his release and asked to withdraw the said amount from a nearby ATM, a request Ebila and his gang reportedly turned down, promising to kill the man if he fails to provide the ransom.

The source claimed Ebila then asked the victim to call anyone who could bring the money for him in order to regain his freedom. The call made from the kidnapper’s den gave the Operatives of Operation Burst the information about the ongoing criminal act.

In the words of the anonymous source: “Men of the Operation Burst, therefore, swung into action by heading to Aboderin Compound, Kudeti.”

Upon sighting the rescue team, Ebila and his team members numbering about 15 opened fire on the security team. It was in the ensuing gunfire that Ebila who was trying to escape through the river line of the popular Kudeti river was shot.

The men of Operation Burst kept being on the offensive and tried to overpower other members of the gang, but some of them managed to escape with the corpse of Ebila.

Recall that Ebila had been declared wanted in April 2020, in connection with the murder of a leader of a rival group, one Moshood Oladokun, popularly known as Ekugbemi, who was matcheted to death following a clash with a rival cult group.
