He was popular and flamboyant. He had both women and men at his beck and call. He bestrode the religious landscape of Nigeria like a colossus.

His name is Bishop Patrick Anwuzia of ZOE Ministry.

The name Patrick Anwuzia the founder of Zoe Ministries Worldwide still rings a bell in the Nigerian Christendom. During the mid-90s Patrick Anwuzia was the cynosure of all eyes, his sparkling flowing wide-sleeved Agbada attire was the talk of the town, with rich colours. Patrick Anwuzia’s messages were more of prosperity.

He held crusades in most big cities in Nigeria and established Zoe Ministries branches in almost all the states in Nigeria. He even had a branch in the UK and other parts if the world. At some point, he was almost commercializing the word of God in his crusades. He had branches in Agbani road in Enugu. Zoe Ministries dominated the South East and had a strong base in Lagos and other South-South states.

Like a tsunami, Zoe Ministries shook the Christian community of Nigeria, they were everywhere, in the airwaves, newspapers, Television houses, etc. Not too long, like a tide, Patrick Anwuzia’s name and fame began to dissipate.

The razzmatazz that characterized his person began to fade away and the church began to experience a decline in membership, some branches began to fold up until the reign of Zoe Ministries Worldwide ebbed away.

According to reports, all attempts to get him treated locally has failed as he needs urgent liver transplant surgery abroad.

To make matter worse, the closure of international flights across the globe due to the Coronavirus pandemic is not helping matters
