She & Her Mother Were Desperate, I Regret Having Anything To Do With Family, Ex Chairman Skye Bank Ayeni Talks About Estranged Sidechick

During an interview with THISDAYLIVE, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Skye Bank Plc, Tunde Ayeni, reportedly expressed deep regret over ever meeting Adaobi Alagwu, who had claimed to have had a child with him.

Speaking about the ongoing dispute between them, Ayeni was said to have described the situation as one of the darkest periods of his life. He reportedly stated that he strongly disliked hearing her referred to as his ex-mistress and wished to distance himself from the entire episode. According to him, his initial approach had been to manage the situation discreetly in order to protect his family, his reputation, and the legacy he had built.

Further talking, he said, “She and her mother are desperate. I regret ever having anything to do with her and her entire family. I do not even want to remember that period of my life. It’s completely blocked out of my memory. Most people do not understand what actually happened. I can tell you for a fact that I am not an irresponsible person. With hindsight, when all this started, and I saw all the red flags, I should’ve just walked away. People should take it as a lesson from me.”

Ayeni further explained that once he realised he was entangled in a situation he should never have been part of, his instinct was to cut ties completely and move on, regardless of the consequences.

However, he admitted that he initially tried to manage the situation, which led him to make decisions he now considers unwise—such as providing financial maintenance, assisting with accommodation, and offering other forms of support.

He said these gestures, which were made in good faith, were later weaponised and used to blackmail him. This, he claimed, prompted him to eventually speak out publicly, admitting what had happened and declaring his decision to recover everything he could from both the woman and her mother.
