How Fraudulent Pastor & Abuja Developer Left 25 Families Homeless (video)

An Abuja-based property owner and investor, Patrick Anyaene, has accused a real estate developer, Pastor Isaac Adams the CEO of Light Gold Real Estate Limited, of allegedly breaching a joint venture agreement, disposing of properties without authority and engaging in a series of fraudulent activities, which he says have left more than 25 families facing serious financial losses and homelessness.

Anyaene, who spoke to reporters in Abuja said his dispute with Adams arose from a joint venture agreement entered into between both parties for the development of property in Abuja.

According to him, Adams allegedly breached virtually every clause of the agreement and subsequently disposed of properties belonging to both parties, while also allegedly taking possession of his Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

Anyaene further alleged that the C of O was subsequently used by Adams in transactions involving members of the public, including the collection of money from prospective property buyers and tenants.

He accused the developer of allegedly engaging in double and multiple allocations, selling properties that had previously been allocated or sold, and collecting payments from different individuals in connection with the same properties.

Anyaene said the alleged activities occurred on land connected to the joint venture located in Durumi District, adding that the situation became particularly disturbing because several members of the public had invested their life savings in properties they believed they had legitimately acquired.

He claimed that more than 25 families had been affected by the dispute, with some allegedly losing substantial sums of money and being rendered homeless following developments at the estate.

Anyaene said he chose to seek legal redress and obtained a court order, which he said formed the basis for the enforcement action carried out at the estate. He explained that the enforcement exercise was conducted at the property with the presence of security personnel and court officials.

He said the team arrived at the estate and simultaneously evicted occupants in enforcement of the court order. Anyaene maintained that the action was not an attempt to take the law into his own hands but a step taken after pursuing the matter through the judicial process.

He alleged that Adams is currently avoiding arrest and members of the public seeking to hold him accountable over the disputed transactions.

He said Adams, a pastor has sought the ticket of a political party to run for the governorship of Nasarawa State, a project he said failed because of Adam’s reputation for perpetrating illegality.

He decried the fraudulent activities of some Abuja developers, urging members of the public to exercise caution in their dealings to avoid being swindled.

He called for stronger regulation of real estate developers, particularly to prevent multiple allocations, unauthorised sales and the diversion or misuse of property documents.

According to him, his experience over the past five years has demonstrated the need for an effective regulatory mechanism capable of protecting genuine property buyers and investors from unscrupulous developers.

Anyaene urged people who may have entered into property transactions with Light Gold Real Estate Limited or Adams to exercise caution and properly verify ownership documents and the status of properties before making further financial commitments.

All efforts to reach the embattled pastor and real estate developer as at the time of this report were unsuccessful.
